The department provides state-of-the-art Anesthesia services with an emphasis on invasive monitoring. Outcomes in the Department of Anesthesia at Landmark Medical Center have improved tremendously in the last few years due to our rigorous quality assurance program.
Its Pain Management service is the largest (in volume) and the most comprehensive in the state of Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts. In fact, the practice is one of the largest pain management services in New England. There are currently four physicians who provide pain service, offering an entire spectrum of simple and complex pain procedures. Our group also provides a well established patient support system. The service is under the direction of Dr. Ahmed Ebeid, who trained at the rigorous pain management program at Stanford University.
Its Critical Care service is the only anesthesia-based critical care service in Rhode Island. The service covers a wide variety of critical care patients. The emphasis is focused on a closed ICU model, providing improved morbidity and mortality, as well as decreased length of stay. There are currently four physicians providing critical care services. The service was recently complemented by a coverage affiliation with Northern Rhode Island Medical Group. The service is under the direction of Dr. Khaled Sorour, who trained at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital.
